- I have stayed in many hotels in New Orleans but this is my new favorite. The four-star, pet-friendly hotel is named after Windsor Castle in England and offers understated elegance in an ever-bustling city.
- There are 316 well-appointed rooms and suites starting at $ 305 a night. For an additional $ 120, add access to the Club Room, which includes unlimited cocktails, snacks, a continental breakfast, and afternoon tea.

As a New Yorker and a regular visitor to New Orleans over the past decade, I am constantly on the lookout for the next extraordinary hotel in New Orleans.
I am now convinced that it is the Windsor Court Hotel. Hidden in plain sight, this classic and sophisticated hotel combines English sensibility with Southern hospitality, just two blocks from the jazz and bustle of the French Quarter, yet without any hectic noise.
Before my visit, I had heard whispers from Windsor Court: how exquisite; which celebrities stay there; what happens on jazz nights at the chic second-floor bar, the Polo Club Lounge.
Decided to check in for a weekend and booked a deluxe suite, subject to review, but starts at $ 360 a night. Standard rooms start at $ 305 per night, while the Presidential Suite costs just $ 7,500.
Here’s what it was like to stay at this private, low-key hotel and why it made such a lasting impression.
