Wellington Vale in Darnel Road received the top rating from residents, their families and friends, with a 10 out of 10 rating on carehome.co.uk, a care home review website known as ‘Trip Advisor to the care home sector”.
The website collates its scores from a range of criteria, including care and support, residents treated with dignity, staff, facilities, activities and value for money.
Over 17,000 care home reviews are published on the website, with less than 1% of care homes achieving this rating.
Commenting on the achievement, Gaynor Rhead, Managing Director of Wellington Vale, said: “To receive top ratings on this site and to receive such incredible reviews from residents, family and friends is a huge testament to the hard work , dedication and care provided by the entire Wellington Vale team.

“It means a lot to all of us that people have taken the time to thank us and recommend us to others who are considering moving a loved one to a care home. We always try to go the extra mile and we are delighted that this has been recognised.’
Wellington Vale has also received a number of outstanding reviews, including from Janine W, a resident’s daughter.
She said: ‘Having to place mum in residential care was without a doubt the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but from the first day the home admissions counselor showed me around, I felt knew this was the right place.
