In February 2018, I had not been to a salon for a haircut for over a year. I know, it’s a bit absurd – but I’m just having a hard time saying goodbye to my long hair. Sure, I went to the barber to get my hair dyed (one too many times in 2017), but hadn’t taken scissors in over 365 days. Fortunately, the wait paid off, as I had the opportunity to write a review of the Rossano Ferretti salon. In case you haven’t figured out who he is yet, I’ll start with this: Ferretti’s haircuts could cost as much as $ 1,500. Yeah.
When I told my dad that I had a haircut that could be worth $ 1,500, the first thing he said was, “Did he turn your hair to gold?” And TBH, he type in fact (I’m exaggerating). When I first sat in Ferretti’s hair styling chair in his New York City salon (which overlooks a beautiful part of Midtown Manhattan, obviously), my hair was almost down to my buttocks. It was only one length apart from the layers my bangs created when I developed them. Between my excess size and my bleached ends, I needed a cut. WRONG.
However, I didn’t want a drastic and recently unique sort of chop. I wanted layers, and I didn’t want it to be too obvious. Turns out I got lucky, because Ferretti’s haircut technique – commonly known as “The Method” – is called the “invisible haircut”. The method emphasizes a woman’s natural appearance and accentuates subtle layers without the “blunt” look of a new style.
“The ‘invisible haircut’ is based on natural hair loss. So basically you talk with the hair. You smell the hair. And you follow that. This is the only way to create really very movement. natural. ”Ferretti told me. Talking to your hair sounds like a new age and quite in my alley, so I said I had coaxed my hair into the conversation.
Ferretti answered all my questions while he was cutting my hair, so my experience was certainly special. He continued with his “method” and said, “My main goal is to respect you, your personality, your desire, your wishes and to work on you.”
I don’t think any other hairdresser that I have already Seen caring about my hair more than Ferretti. After I asked him to describe his haircut technique in a nutshell, he said it would be “revolution”.
I am okay. The haircut he gave me was without a doubt revolutionary. Although no drastic length was taken off, the layers he gave me are perfect for my style.
As you can see my haircut was subtle, but it looks so natural. Everything is falling into place better than ever, and I wasn’t panicking in the lounge chair at the end of the date (as usual). I loved it, and I still love it.
As the haircut legend finished cutting my locks, we talked about his product line, Rossano Ferretti Parma. I asked him how I should keep my hair like a million bucks, and his response was “diet.” So, yeah, I guess I should throw out my over-the-counter shampoo and conditioner if I want to keep my hair healthy.
Ferretti’s hair products can be found on its website or on the Sephora website. These products are no joke, folks, and I highly suggest giving them a try. I’m currently using her Grandioso 02 Volumizing Shampoo ($ 39; sephora.com), and it’s creepy revolutionary. I also use her Grandioso 02 Volumizing Conditioner ($ 42; sephora.com), which leaves my hair silky smooth every time I use it.
Of all the products, however, I’m a bit obsessed with the Shiny Protective Shine Oil 11 ($ 51; sephora.com). I was lucky enough to put this product in my hair after the cut, and it made my hair shinier than ever and removed frizz (trust me, I have a lot of frizz). The next time you have some extra cash, give it a try.
Believe it or not, Ferretti took years and years hard work behind its products. He tells me that it took three years to concoct ingredients, three years to test them in his salons around the world and three years to choose their scents. It’s pretty special – and now I feel like a celebrity.
Speaking of celebrities, many Hollywood starlets have been seen at Rossano Ferretti salons around the world including Kate Middleton, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lawrence, Olsen sisters, Lady Gaga, and more. So yeah … I am attractive sure he knows what he’s doing.
If that means anything, I’m over the moon with my haircut, and my friends love it too. While not a huge change, it’s perfectly subtle and makes my hair look a lot livelier. I can totally understand why someone would pay a ton of money for this. However, keep in mind that my haircut would have been very expensive since my date was with Ferretti himself. You can make an appointment with one of Ferretti’s talented apprentices, who also uses his celebrity method, for around $ 155. You deserve it.
