Salon Review: Emerald Eyebrows | Herts Advertiser

Through a small door in the back of a barbershop Harpenden was the last place I expected to find the A-list brow genius I had heard so much about.

But once you step into this hidden haven from the main street, you realize why the owner of the newly renovated space, Jigna Soni, is so popular with her most famous clients.

Pruning Emma Watson, Little Mix, Alexandra Burke and the Princess of Quatar with the cult “HD Brow” technique, Jigna left her space in London for her new Harpenden salon, Emerald Brows.

But Jigna doesn’t just offer the best eyebrows in the neighborhood, she’ll meet all of your beauty and grooming needs.

I started my Sunday afternoon with HD brows, a trademark technique that took the beauty world by storm.

Your trained stylist traces your face shape and skin tone, putting you on a regrowth program if needed.

The technique combines waxing, threading and waxing to give you the best brows, without the usual pain associated with techniques (especially threading).

I usually do my brows on my own, so I was concerned that this approach might look too bold or unnatural for my usually low-key bow.

But Jigna, one of only two HD master stylists in the South, quickly allayed my concerns and started to work wonders.

I looked at myself in the mirror after the treatment and was more than amazed at the difference, and received compliments over the next three weeks (about how long the eyebrows lasted).

I was then treated to a facial treatment from Dr Murad, specially designed to brighten my skin, which felt particularly unloved after a rather gloomy summer.

Jigna cleaned my face before spraying and exfoliating. I spent the next 45 minutes relaxed and came out rejuvenated – my skin really glowed.

If your skin is dry and dull as the winter months approach, this facial is for you.

I finished my afternoon cocooning session with an Indian head massage; the perfect way to relieve the tension built up in my shoulders that comes with office work.

My three fabulous treatments were made even better by the exceptionally warm service I received from Jigna.

Clearly knowledgeable and super talented, it was her human nature that made my Sunday afternoon.

If you are looking to pamper yourself before a big event, or just want to take some time out, this small salon is the perfect place.

Thanks to its prime location, it’s easy to get to and you can even finish your look with a blow-dry in the nearby hair salon like I did.

I walked out of Emerald Brows feeling really relaxed and ready for the freezing season ahead.
