Review of the John Frieda Salon on Aldford Street

Behind an unpretentious and unbranded salon facade, one of London’s most renowned hairdressers is seated. The John Frieda Salon on Aldford Street in Mayfair has been a favorite among beauty industry insiders since day one.

With a chic but understated interior, the living room is the opposite of intimidation and offers a warm welcome to all who walk through its doors. And don’t even get us started on the insane amount of magazine options to read; bored, you won’t.

The color services at John Frieda are second to none. Fashion and Beauty Executive Director Claudia Mahoney first recommended JF to me, and I’ve never regretted going to the fantastic Cetera for my highlights since. Claudia has taken a real trip with her own braids, after suffering a hair color accident elsewhere.

“Step into the miraculous and beautiful inside and out of Nicola Clarke [Creative Colour Director at John Frieda], says Claudie.

She continues: “It’s not for nothing that she has patronized the hair of the best blondes in the business, counting Kate Moss, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet and Madonna among her list of friends and clients. She has seen my hair torn at the worst and fed and counseled me to feel like myself for the first time in a very long time.

For cuts and style, there are tons of talented stylists to choose from, and we adore the very likeable Laura Swann. Easy to communicate the style you want, John Frieda hairstylists really listen to what you want, offering their input where it’s needed, but never pushing. Whether it’s a quick ‘just the end’ cut or a complete re-style, you can trust these guys.
