Dubai – Discover the city’s trendy restaurants
There’s something about winter diners around town, it puts you in a good mood before the food even hits your table. The indoor space at Roobaru, Downtown Dubai is charming with minimalist decor in subtle colors and gorgeous patterns (reminiscent of one of the Washi tapes), but it’s tempting to enjoy the outdoors, especially when your view is at its best. heart of the city, coupled with police patrolling on horseback! We were won over by this, followed by the arrival of the drinks – Purple Flight, a concoction of delicate sweet lavender flavors and a sour tinge from lemon olio saccharum, the latter literally meaning oily sugar flavored with lemon; and What a Melon, which is bursting with freshness thanks to watermelon and orange juice, with mint and basil leaves as a garnish.
From there, we went to discover a mixture of flavors. Papdi Smack is your larger than life version of Indian street food and is topped with a unique blend of pickled apricot, pomegranate and radish. Corn hummus, a creamy, velvety concoction, didn’t quite remind us of hummus, but worked well with the coriander khakra polenta (a thin cracker, popular in Gujarati cuisine). Think you can handle the spiciness quotient? a dish until you taste (and savor) Amchi Thecha Wings – chicken wings coated in a mixture of garlic, chilli and peanuts (courtesy Maharashtrian Kitchen) – you are bound to sweat, but hey, the dish would add excitement to your meal.We were happy to travel to other parts of India with our main course of Konkan Prawn Curry, a light, satisfying and tangy preparation , which we associated with a Truffle Kulcha. And for nostalgia, we tasted the House Dal, the atypical dal makhani bearing the imprint of the popular Dal Bukahara. And we may come back for this one, especially for the consume with Mango Chunda Kulcha.
