Largely good, but it’s a mixed bag. The kids’ club run by the lovely Clothilde Huet is top notch – with great staff, game rooms, an art room, and a lovely garden for budding horticulturalists to plant herbs and flowers. A teen room is fun with a karaoke lounge, a photo booth, and two playstations. However, the majority of rooms are not configured for families with more than one child. Of the three restaurants, Beach Rouge is kid-friendly and has a kids’ menu, but Ai KISU is adults-only after 8:30 p.m. and the rooftop bar is adults-only all day.
Commendable. There is no plastic policy and the take out boxes and cups are all paper or wood as are new room amenities / toiletries. There are reusable water bottles in rooms and restaurants. There is a vegetable farm on the east coast where produce is purchased – the idea is to serve as many fresh ingredients as possible while minimizing the carbon footprint of imported produce. There are also loads of homemade pasta, mozzarella, and yogurt.
They have two fully accessible junior suites. Villas and large pool villas on the beach are not fully wheelchair accessible.
Nothing to report?
From 2022, it will be possible to book private dinners in the “cocoons” of the garden (circular tables set up on the slope next to the beach) and collectable experiences such as visits to rum distilleries, small drinks. Private island lunches and local jewelry workshops will be available.
