Hotel Review: InterContinental Singapore At Bugis

The hotel The Peranakan Theme InterContinental Singapore hotel in Bugis has been a mainstay in the rapid development of the area over the past decade. Consistently ranked as one of IHG’s top properties in Singapore, it’s a great place to stay with Bugis Junction and the Bugis MRT station connected to the hotel. For tourists, the hotel’s centralized location makes it an accessible point for getting around most of Singapore’s tourist attractions.

The property is currently running for a limited time Surprise Suite Promoting the room. Here’s how it works – book a suite experience from S$399++ per night and enjoy a stay in a mystery suite – only to be revealed upon arrival. This is valid for stays from now until September 30, 2022, where this promotion includes a one-night stay in an exclusive suite. Depending on your luck, you may even be entitled to the prestigious Presidential Suite (259 m²), Junior Suite (52 m²), Heritage Suite (55 m²), Premium Suite (69 m²), the large Royal Suite (85 m² ) or the luxurious Ambassador Suite (114 m²).

All Suite experiences will also include 20% off à la carte offerings from the hotel’s flagship Italian bistronomic concept, Luce by Davide Giacomelli, 25% off the total bill at Michelin-recommended Man Fu Yuan and 25% off reduction on à la carte or fixed menus. including classic afternoon tea for two at the hotel lobby lounge.

Bedroom Having stayed in the Club Deluxe room before, I checked into the Premium Suite during my recent stay located on the top two levels of the hotel. This is a spacious suite of 69 m², bathed in natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Upon entering the suite, there is a powder room right next to the entrance. Premium Suite guests also receive one round-trip airport limousine transfer per stay and access to the Club InterContinental experience with a dedicated Club InterContinental concierge team.

I was then greeted by the spacious living room which also includes a long work table. It’s perfect if you’re on a business trip or need to catch up on work as the table size is good for two people to work at the same time.

The bedroom is designed in a separate section of the suite, and I like the light tones of the interior which make the suite space feel more refreshed.

It is equipped with a comfortable king size bed where the mattress and pillows are relatively hard, to my preference. The sofa by the window is also the perfect spot for lounging in the afternoon.

As for the bathroom, it is equipped with a shower cubicle and a bathtub. I guess the only downside is that there is no view when you soak in the tub!

As for storage, I appreciate that there is enough space to store your luggage or personal belongings throughout the suite.

The installations The fitness center is open 24/7, one of the perks of staying here for fitness junkies. This is a spacious gym, where the fitness center has some of the latest equipment, including a quiet yoga room at the yogis corner. There are also sauna facilities in the fitness center bathroom.

One level above the fitness center, the pool offers views of the city skyline as you soak up the sun. It’s not quite the ideal pool for serious swimming as it’s relatively small.

Located on level two of the property, I also checked out the Club InterContinental Lounge which is part of the suite perks. It’s lovely that the living room design has Peranakan elements.

With coffee and tea all day, with afternoon tea service mid-afternoon, and unlimited cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the evening, you don’t even have a reason to leave the living room if you don’t have one. other planes. You can also choose to have breakfast in the lounge, although the spread is much wider in The Breakfast Room space.

The restaurants The most recent addition to the restoration of the property is Luce by Davide Giacomelli, an Italian concept. Other dining options include a Cantonese restaurant Man Fu Yuan and the hotel’s Peranakan-inspired lounge The lobby lounge.

I chose to have breakfast at The breakfast room (which turns into Davide Giacomelli’s Luce after breakfast time) where you can expect a fairly extensive range of continental and oriental breakfast, fresh juices, cold cuts, desserts, etc.

Getting mad Not much privacy in the pool due to size constraint.

Overall experience I had a great stay in the Premium Suite. It is cozy, comfortable and ideal for catching up on work too. The overall experience is also complemented by access to Club InterContinental where you won’t go hungry or thirsty.
