As a Las Vegas local, I have seen the Bellagio’s water fountains explode hundreds, if not thousands, of times. But it wasn’t until recently that I learned that seeing them from a spare bedroom was very different from watching them across the street.
Watching the Bellagio’s water fountains dance from the floor-to-ceiling window of a king bedroom with fountain view on the 24th floor placed me directly above the dazzling display. It was as if I was seeing them for the first time.
The fountains are without a doubt the star attraction of the hotel, but they are not the only reason to stay here. Located in the middle of the Strip, the Bellagio is a luxury property that offers chic suites to the big guys as well as basic but upscale rooms for under $ 200. As such, the vibe is an accessible luxury – think afternoon tea or a two-for-one craft cocktail.
I stayed in a mid-level Fountain View King, reviewed, but starts at $ 180 a night and would have cost $ 214 for the night I visited, plus taxes and a $ 45 per day service charge. $.
A standard room without a view will cost around $ 50 less, however, the view is well worth the extra. I would happily spend my own money to come back and stay in a king with a fountain view; the angle facing the fountains is the one you cannot see from any other hotel in Las Vegas.
