The gym, adjoining the spa, is huge, with new Technogym equipment and a 25m indoor pool and yoga deck. For those keen on chasing cobwebs, it’s worth signing up for the excellent group classes such as basic training and balance board or trying out the challenging hiking and biking routes.
Overlooking the historic bay of Benitses (and Albania beyond), from here you can catch a ferry to Paxos and Antipaxos. Corfu town is a 20-minute drive away – trample the cobbled lanes of the UNESCO-listed walled town, explore the Venetian fortress and refresh yourself in its frescoed 16th-century Orthodox churches.
Service was efficient with attentive reception and poolside staff. A very welcoming children’s club team makes it easy to leave the little ones behind.
The Rangers Club, for kids ages 4-11, is very close to the main pool, so it can be hard to persuade kids to stay. However, when they do, they are rewarded with activities such as cookie and jewelry making workshops and, for older children, a TV room. A small shaded pool is perfect for toddlers. Ask for the children’s sizes of the kimono and the slippers for very nice photos. There are also family spa treatments, including body scrubs and face masks for the little ones. The junior suites are very generously proportioned with a separate area with a sofa bed, so parents can still enjoy a drink on the terrace while the toddlers doze off.
In the right direction. All lighting found in hallways, lobbies and room number signage uses LED technology. The hotel aims to adopt a zero plastic policy. Most villas include rooftop gardens with green vegetables and herbs that chefs incorporate into their dishes.
There are 20 wheelchair accessible rooms.
Anything else to mention?
Beware of wasps in the summer – they can be very annoying and we often preferred not to order food on our sunbeds. A novelty in 2022 will be the opening of its Vertigo rooftop bar.
