Amara Hotel Reviews, Cyprus | CN traveler

The spa
Calming on the lookout, the spa is home to an indoor pool and ocean-facing gym, and the treatment menu includes special signatures such as the Cyprus Ancient Ritual, Rose Diamond Facial, steam capsules, massage beds. chromotherapy and the Banya Suite Experience, in which two people can take possession of a private swimming pool and a sauna. No children are allowed here.

The area
Amara is the kind of sprawling hotel you don’t want to leave, but if you want to, you’ll need a taxi as there isn’t much you can walk to. There is a lot of fascinating ancient history to admire in Limassol – Limassol Castle and the Medieval Cyprus Museum, for example, the Archaeological Museum and the Prokymea (Molos) Sculpture Park. There is also a water sports center near the hotel, from which you can rent kayaks or a boat and drift out to sea, and a large water park a 30-minute drive away, to which the hotel can organize transport (closed on Mondays).

The service
The service is very warm but very professional, with a team eager to go out of their way to keep customers happy and cool. One afternoon while we were there the music from the DJ was so loud during the day that our child couldn’t take a nap even in our room – when we politely mentioned it the volume was turned down and the next day we saw that the DJ booth had in fact been removed. Whether we have something to do with the latter, or if it was a coincidence, we are not sure. The concierge will also go out of their way to help you – ordering taxis to the water park or getting anything you need from the pharmacy, even on a Sunday.

For families
The large number of young families present allows parents to relax a bit in numbers, even in such a chic setting. Additionally, the hotel rooms are cleverly divided into an adults-only spa wing and a family wing, with its own dedicated pool, kids’ club, and nursery. The restaurant staff, even in the Michelin-starred Ristorante Locatelli, are incredibly accommodating, bringing the kids’ dishes early or tailoring them as much as possible to the odd requests they may have. The aforementioned kids’ club and nursery on the ground floor are large, new, and well stocked with toys and activities, and excellent babysitting service can be arranged by front desk staff for a fee.

Residual energy from air conditioning units and solar panels is used to heat the hotel water; shading systems are used in all luxury suites; all the equipment runs on frequency inventors to save energy, and the wastewater is treated for irrigation.

Accessibility for people with reduced mobility
Two rooms are specially designed for people with reduced mobility. All public spaces are accessible via elevators and ramps. Note that there are small steps down to the beach.

Nothing to report?
The infinity pools – one suitable for children, the other not – offer the ultimate in stay and should be used as long as possible.
