UK Top 20 Charts: Mass Effect 3 Conquers All
Despite all the disruptions in the gaming industry (namely the one that involves the GAME Group and their stocking issues), Mass Effect 3 from BioWare secured the top spot on it’s debut, hitting a 1-2 for EA as SSX drops into 2nd place, after it’s first week at the top. It’s not surprising since the third instalment in the Mass Effect series was hugely anticipated amid some setbacks with GAME. It just shows games can still hold on through plenty of other distributors. That being said, 73% of all sales were purchased for the Xbox 360 – where the core fanbase of the series after it went multiplatform.
Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken takes 3rd after much success from critics whilst The Sims 3: Showtime chips in at number 6. Zumba Fitness is at it again as it rounds off the Top 10. Rayman: Origins still keeping consumer interests in the market as it sits at 11 whilst further down the line, Zipper Interactive’s Unit 13 PS Vita debut was less than admirable, coming in at a disappointing 15. It’s the highest placed PS Vita title as Uncharted: Golden Abyss is right behind at 16.
To finish off the Top 20, RAGE and it’s low low pricing continues to get enough interests and purchases to keep it inside the Top 20 at dead 20.
