UK Charts: Black Ops 2 The Chosen Title For Christmas

The weekend before Christmas always brings an influx of sales as they try t snap up  competitive deals from retailers before the special day. Thus, would be the decider of which title would take home the ‘title to get this Christmas’ – that left Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on top for the sixth consecutive week in 2012.

It also ensures that with the exception of ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’, which claimed the title in 2011 either an Activision or EA title has been top at Christmas for the last decade. Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 sales boost of 86% weren’t enough to topple the title, but climbs from number 5 to number 2. The top 3 is rounded off with Hitman: Absolution, with the latter 2 a big feature in the Christmas sales. FIFA 13 drops 1 place to number 4 whilst Just Dance 4 ensures those Christmas bellies get worked on at/ after Christmas.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted takes 6th whilst Assassin’s Creed III is one place behind at number 7. That means Microsoft’s Halo 4 slips to 8th whilst the last 2 are unchanged, with LEGO LOTR and WWE’13 taking 9th and 10th respectively. The last 2 titles are the only games not to have a positive sales boost during the week before Christmas.
