Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sony’s version of Super Smash Bros was demonstrated at their conference yesterday. With 4 players, two on PS3 and two on Vitas, All-Stars Battle Royale looks to be as crazy, manic and fun as expected. The fight consisted of Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, Kratos and Sly Cooper on a background of Metropolis from Ratchet and Clank that gave way to the hydra level from GoW II.

The demo showed very smooth gameplay and an intriguing scroing system whereas you aim to build up your special meter which when released, gives you points. Whoever gains the most points wins. It seems to be a strange system and one that is slightly illogical but it still looks as if it works well and has room to reward the more skilful players. Each character was shown to have their own range and style of attacks such as Kratos’ violent and aggressive close combat melee compared to Sly’s sneaky invisibility and quick movements.

The game was confirmed to include cross platform play between PS3 and Vita with cross console saves and transfers. Also, the demo was finished with a short trailer revealing two new fighters- Mr Nathan Drake and the terrifying Big Daddy or Mr Cuddles as he is otherwise known. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is shaping up to be a bug hit and yet another awesome exclusive for PS3 owners next year.
