Sony E3 2012 – God of War: Ascension Gets Brutal 5 Minutes of Gameplay

Another one of Sony’s big guns at the E3 press conference was none other than Kratos with God of War: Ascension. The prequel to the God of War series followed Kratos in this gameplay scene as he arrive in an island and was greeted with a brutally wounded civilian by the port, pierced through and through with a huge sword. It wasn’t long before the minotaur looking soldiers spotted our man and welcomed him with their swords.
We had a look at Kratos’ fast-paced, fluid combat gameplay, chaining seamless and highly animated combos that makes combat visually appealing. It also seems that the graphics have improved with some noticeable character modelling polishing and crisp environments. He also has some healing abilities in terms of restoring fallen infrastructures.

There’s plenty of gore violence as Kratos dissects an elephant looking monster’s head open with plenty of stabbing that opens up gushes of blood. Multiplayer is also present in this title, the first for the God of War series. God of War: Ascension will be released exclusively for the PS3 March 15, 2013 in the UK
