Based on the last three Harry Potter books and final four films, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 takes players through Harry Potter’s heroic adventures in the Muggle and wizarding worlds.
The recent gamer’s discussion on most forums is that there are a plethora of ‘glitches’ in Lego HP 5-7, but will they prevent you from enjoying the game?
According to GameGuideDog’s LEGO Harry Potter 5-7 game-play team, so far there are not any game halting glitches. A small list of semi-legitimate complaints can be found, with less than a handful that can cause a small bit of annoyance. Namely they are:
- Sometimes you need to drop an item you are carrying but it takes forever for the game to register the right location of the drop. Move in front of the drop point a few times to get it to work. (Assuredly, this is the biggest complaint especially on the Wii platforms control scheme.)
- Small glitch with the banners on walls. You can lower them via a cord, then raise the banner with magic, then zap it for more coins. However, zapping it before use of magic to raise the banner causes it to close and you have to lower it again. (Possibly by design.)
- There are more than 200 gold bricks. There are at least 201, but you only need to hit 200 to complete the game at 100%. (This too is probably by design.)
Overall with the personal reviewer’s issues and critics higher scoring taken into account, the released product does stand on its own merit and there is more good fun to be had in Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 than you can shake a stick at…or rather, shake a wand at.
