Halo 4 multiplayer needs a 8GB install

In a recent listing on Xbox.com, it was confirmed that the hugely anticipated Halo 4‘s multiplayer component will require a monstrous 8GB installat a minimum‘. Coincidentally it later claims ‘for an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended’.

This could cause major problems for the many Xbox owners with a low memory model or gamers with an extensive save library. Halo 4 is one of the most anticipated games of the year not just for Xbox fans but also every gamer out there, but with this piece of information, we could see an increase of sales of the larger Xbox 360 models.

Earlier this year there were rumours that Halo 4 will appear on two discs whilst at the recent E3 conference Microsoft announced a $199 Starter Bundle which offers a mere 4GB console, a very clever move then by Microsoft and 343 Industries.

@Ward_17 on older consoles, yes. I have 70GB left on my 120GB hard drive, so I have enough, but there’re consoles with 20GB hard drives

kmurphy91 Some Xbox’s such as the Arcade version only have 4GB so some people are stuck with what to do!

kmurphy91 yeah though 8GB is a hefty amount especially with the limited capacity of the older Xbox 360′s.
