God of War: Ascension will Boast Multiplayer, Gameplay & Info Dissected

God of War: Ascension was announced officially by Sony last week, in which reacted to the delight of fans to see Kratos and the God of War series back in the spotlight. But many are wondering how it ties in? After Ghost of Sparta and before the original God of War, Ascension fits in as a prequel and is out for revenge against Ares. Whilst details on the core singleplayer experience was absent (and most likely revealed at E3), God of War: Ascension was announced surprisingly to have a multiplayer experience. Multiplayer you say? We wouldn’t do multiplayer in God of War unless we knew we could do it right. That’s why I’m extremely excited to finally be able to talk publicly about it and share all the gory details with you live. God of War: Ascension will feature team-based gameplay with action set-pieces. Up to a maximum of 8 players will get to choose which of the four Gods they’ll want to represent:

  • Zeus
  • Poseidon
  • Hades
  • Ares.

From there on, it’s about dominating the arena through contraptions and decapitating rivals. God of War: Ascension is set to release Spring 2013 exclusively for the PS3.
