GAME Trade-in Price Checker Beta Goes Online

GAME are looking to improve their offerings by making trading-in games at their stores easier – their new Trade-in Price Checker is now live. The service is currently in beta and asks customers to type-in the barcode number of their games, prompting quoted trade-in prices to pop up which are valid for that day.
Simply go here and type in your barcode value and wallah, the trade-in and cash prices are displayed like that shown below when I entered Batman: Arkham City.
Do note this is in beta – I had trouble entering barcodes for Resistance 3, Dead Island and FIFA 12. It wasn’t recognised on the system. Sure in beta the amount of games that would be recognised is small as an experiment. However, not scanning some mainstream and popular titles will surely frustrate some.
Though this is the right direction to improving their offerings, it’s very late in responding to the market – CEX was built on a trade-in and cash checker since they started, with HMV having a Replay mobile app to check trade-in prices too. There’s no indication with GAME’s checker of differentiating different editions of games though we hope it will come later. So why not give it a try and see what GAME is willing to pay you for
