FIFA 12 Apology Wall

Today, the FIFA 12 Apology wall was born. From starting off with our FIFA 12 Tournament, I’ve witnessed many goals scored and the apologies should be expressed on our website for all to absorb. When matches are lost, dignity is forgotten, morale is diminished and only one course of action expresses such a defeat – the apology wall. Submit your own apologies for FIFA 12 to be featured on what I can only assume will become a history of apologies.

Send them to us via message on our Facebook Page (opens in new tab)

Our first offender came as a personal match between a friend and unfortunately for him, is the pioneer of such a project. We bring you, the Total Revue FIFA 12…

APOLOGY WALL

Offender: Alex Taylor Lost to: Russell Fernandez Score: 6-1 Date: 24/10/2011

Mr Russell-Harvey Fernandez

I am writing to express my sincerest apologies for my frankly dismal display on FIFA 12 tonight at 10pm. Where should I begin? Plucky with confidence I approached the contest sporting a “winning attitude” whilst more than disclosing my extensive FIFA winning history. The first encounter on my part can only be measured equal to the likes of the battle of the Somme, little more than messy and futile. Yet with an outcome of 3 goals (on your part) to 1 I still managed to retain a degree of dignity. I undertook the second meeting with somewhat less morale and certainty. Perhaps equal to that of the second approach the Americans opened up against North Korea January 1951. Of course my lack of confidence was justified once the true majestic prowess of Frank Lampard (Junior) was clearly demonstrated. The second match developed into what could only be described as slaughter. If my team had been represented in village form they would have been raped and pillaged. The ball approached my goal from any angle you desired. Anarchy….pandemonium….mobocracy and disorder are the only fitting words to describe my and my units performance.

The third and final encounter in a series equivalent of that to the Great War was in all……atrocious. Perhaps my display could be related to that of the “Tet offensive” launched upon the US and their allies in Vietnam, 1968. I truly believed that a comeback was possible, however your team, the same group of individuals that had  overwhelmed my side in the previous two encounters, stuck with cloak and dagger to seal my fate. I will not go into details due to the perverse nature of the game.

Mr Fernandez, in short I must declare that your ability and aptitude associated with that of FIFA 12 are clearly exceptional. Without a doubt your authority of the game and exhibition of play is an example for us all. My morale and dignity has been eroded by your demonstration and ultimately I believe in all you are far superior to me at FIFA 12.

Dear Nick Tan,

I would like to sincerely apologise for my disastrous behaviour on the pitch today and would like to explain myself. No rants, no excuses, straight apology. Today, I met you with determination to overcome our rivalry since FIFA 11. I left with bruised mentally and lost dignity as Chelsea dogged against what was a solid Man City. I apologise whole heartedly for wasting your precious time and the opportunity cost of playing another that is more worthwhile. I aspire to your FIFA talent and hope to one day overthrow you – but for now, I hold my head in shame.

During our bout on the pitch, the game slowly drifted from my hands and so did the cohesion of what was a team of solidarity.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness and hope to one day step on the same pitch as you in due time.

Yours Sincerely,

Russell Fernandez

I apologize for my disgraceful performance in our heated FIFA match. I did not deserve to even grasp the greasy and worn out xbox controller in the seedily lit mungoes.

Words cannot describe my disgust, perhaps it can only be compared to england’s performance under Steve Mclaren during the EUROs.

Just picture me holding the brolly as England are raped by Croatia.

Feel free to have a free zidane headbutt to my chest, only violence can reduce the amount of shame I have imposed upon myself.

Your Sincerely

Ka lan Leung

Dear Rawand

I would like to apologize for my disastrous performance this evening. Amongst every other, this performance was frankly the most diabolical. I can’t remember exactly if I did touch the ball however the first goal (at 3 minutes) showed that this match was going to be simply one sided. Taking the ball off you was something I didn’t grasp for the whole game which most likely led to my ultimate demise.
I will most probably not bore you with having to play me again and next time allow you to play someone who offers more of a challenge.

Alex

Dear Ini,

I apologise with all my heart for my embarassing display of ‘Fifa’  play today.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have anticipated such skill and class you showed today on the field of play.  My men were in disarray as you took them apart time and time again and to be honest, the 6-1 scoreline probably flattered me as it could’ve been double figures!

Hopefully, given time and Fifa lessons, I can one day improve enough to give you a decent game and not a repeat of the pathetic play witnessed today.

Sean.

I apologise for the feeble display I gave in the group stages. This game probably taught me never to play FIFA again. My defense had the widest gaps in it and I’m not sure if I even directed my strikers in the right direction. My lack of goals in this game probably led to me losing.
Perhaps after looking up to your example and at some time in the future at another FIFA tournament I will produce something a little better than appalling.

Dear Nick,

Well, well, well. Seems like this is happening on a regular occurrence. Unfortunately I am never on the receiving end of an apology but regardless here is my speech for you. Sure I lost 6-0 to you, sure I lost  7-2 to you. However, all of those 13 goals that I conceeded over 2 matches was worth the sweet one goal I scored to inevitably take you down. Yes, I did it. No feeling could describe how much satisfaction and how complete my life felt and quite frankly, the goals that came after it did little to throw me off. I could being saying ‘sorry’ to you my dear friend, but instead? Thankyou. Thankyou for showing me the display of an illustrious man. Thankyou for opening my eyes to the world of FIFA and finally thankyou for whooping my ass. It’s so sore that it’s beyond being numb.

But nevertheless I will treasure all those goals in my mind and happily relive that moment of losing to you to be rewarded with one win.

I am now complete.

Russell
