DUST 514 Could Support PS Vita Controller to PS3 Functionality

CCP Games’ David Reid talks about Dust 514 over the Playstation Blogcast, detailing many details about what Dust 514 is about. The PS3 exclusive Free-to-Play game is a First Person Shooter set in a sci-fi universe with plenty of unorthodox weapons at your disposal and how the payable aspect of the game leads to deeper customisations rather than any advantages.
The notable part is how Dust 514 will work cross-platform not only with the PC infrastructure, but also the PS Vita. CCP is looking to embrace the connectivity between Sony’s home and portable console and though found that the PS Vita will be more of an on-going version that provides some features, the possibility could be as a controller.
Our first steps will be cohort apps – the idea of taking a certain amount of the [game’s] admin on the go. But the opportunity is massive in terms of what could be on that screen while you’re playing DUST 514.
One other thing to note is how they are also implementing the Playstation Move. But for the PS Vita, more information will be arriving when E3 arrives early June. We hope more developers like Dust 514 will take advantage of how the PS Vita communicates with the PS3, only for our hopes to pin on E3.
Here’s the debut trailer for Dust 514 if you haven’t seen it
