The future of gaming looks hugely impressive if Crytek’s next generation engine, CryEngine 3, is what’s to come. The footage below shows such high fidelity detail in the world of Crysis 3, looking at key innovations in graphical aspects such as the ‘Real-Time Volumetric Cloud Shadows’ and ‘Pixel Accurate Displacement Mapping’. Whilst most of the technology names blow over our heads, I most certainly appreciate the level of detail and work gone into it.
